Emirates British Nursery Year Groups

To allow children to progress in their own time and at their own pace, Emirates British Nursery is divided into age-group specific areas where the care is appropriate to the developmental stage of each child.

Our values provide the framework for our Early Years Educational offering, and EBN has been recognised as being at the forefront of best practice by the KHDA, allowing us to offer Foundation Stage 2 (FS2) starting in September 2022.

The Disney Babies

(45 days – walking)

At Emirates British Nursery we understand the importance of open communication with parents. Babies learn, develop and interpret the information they receive through their heightened senses and movement.
All activities in the baby room revolve around the child’s first experiences of the world outside the home with rich multi-sensory equipment to stimulate and encourage their development. We ensure that their home routines are not disturbed and that their first months at nursery are enjoyable.

Seaworld

(walking to 2 years)

We recognise the importance of planning activities for younger children; we give this as much thought as we do for the older ones. This will enhance their journey as they begin to walk, talk and listen.
During this time, your child will gain confidence and want to explore newfound skills of mobility, dexterity and speech. Your child’s development goals are well documented so you can see exactly how much progress is made. A report is completed between 2 to 3 years specifically looking at the prime areas. This is in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Jungle

(2 years to 3 years)

This area is designed to support and challenge your child’s rapidly developing skills and physical abilities. The children are encouraged to explore and discover using both child and adult initiated play. Development and use of communication is at the heart of young children’s learning.
We encourage children to learn new words through stories, nursery rhymes, singing songs and early learning. They will also enjoy activities in the arts and crafts areas with painting and ‘messy play’ which helps children develop their fine motor skills and identify different materials, colours and textures.

The children learn about a variety of topics and themes including the celebration of religious and cultural festivals.

Minibeasts (FS1)

(3 years to 4 years)

Foundations Stage One is for children up to the age of 4 and is designed to prepare them for Foundation Stage Two at our nurseries or at primary school. As part of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, we have designed a gentle introduction to a broad variety of subjects. At Emirates British Nursery the children are provided with a wide range of challenging opportunities for active and independent learning with plenty of practical and problem-solving activities. This enables them to develop their knowledge, imagination, curiosity, and independence.
At Emirates British Nursery we believe a child’s early years’ experience should not only be happy, active, fun, and secure, but challenging and productive too! We strive to create the optimal environment which allows children to progress in their own time and at their own pace.

Minibeasts (FS1)

(3 years to 4 years)

Foundation Stage 2 (FS2)

(4 years to 5 Years)

At Emirates British Nursery our Foundation Stage Two provides your child a friendly, warm, nurturing environment that safeguards and meets the individual child’s emotional, intellectual and developmental needs.
We pride ourselves on a superbly resourced, intimate environment with smaller class numbers than schools and well-qualified teaching staff. This underpins the child’s early learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage and promotes both independence and decision making. We promote a ‘can do’ attitude that builds and nurtures a child’s self-esteem. Our focus is on play-based learning and self-lead inquiry, where our teachers provide new, interactive and exciting opportunities for children to learn. As a result, children can explore and develop in a safe, well-planned environment where the focus is on meeting individual areas of progress and attainment. In addition to play-based learning, the children will also participate in daily maths and phonics sessions, incorporating reading and writing skills.
To support the children’s introduction to the UAE culture, the children will be introduced to the Arabic language through songs and games. The children will remain in their play-based environments and explore a range of activities with an Arabic focus.
