Parents as Partners

EBN Parent as Partners
At Emirates British Nursery we believe that working with parents to support a successful early years’ experience for children is essential. After all, parents are their child’s first educators.

Parents as Partners

Parents are treated as our partners; this collaborative relationship is at the forefront of what creates a positive learning environment for the children. We realise the importance of open communication and value parent participation. To allow each child to progress at their own pace, development tracking is done regularly and learning goals are shared with parents. It is paramount within our ethos to keep parents involved and informed with a strong focus on building family and community relationships.

Parent/Teacher Meetings

At the start of registration, parents are provided with information regarding our curriculum and details of how we will support their child’s learning and development during their time at our nursery. We continually encourage and support open dialog and communication between home and nursery. Parent/teacher meetings are conducted twice a year to provide parents with an up-to-date review of their child’s progress; this is an opportunity for the teacher to share observations, assessment and the learning journey with parents. If parents require more frequent individual meetings, the teachers are available throughout the year.

Communication

Our nursery mobile application is an instant communication platform for parents using the latest technology. Parents have found this application useful to keep up- to-date with upcoming events and activities. Our communication books are sent home with the children daily so that parents can stay up to date with what their child is learning at nursery. Every week a newsletter is sent to the parents from the class teacher with important information, updates about the latest happenings and news about upcoming events. We also provide a range of support, information and advice for parents including monthly “chit chat” meetings and parent seminars delivered by specialist speakers on all aspects of child care.

Nursery Activities

We are keen for parents to be included in nursery activities. Throughout the year, parents are invited to attend events for special occasions. ‘Parents as Readers’ is a programme we facilitate which welcomes parents to visit our nurseries to read to their child’s class; the children and parents love this experience.

Parent Teacher Association

Our active Parent Teacher Association helps coordinate events and ensure that parents are always invited to participate in all community activities. At Emirates British Nursery Dubai we value the positive and supportive relationship with parents and enjoy collaborating for the children’s best interest.

We believe in building a strong trusting relationship with parents then together we can fully support all children in our care.
