As the temperatures begin to rise in Dubai and our time in the outdoors becomes a little more limited, there are a multitude of wonderful indoor activities to choose from that will keep your children active, entertained and immersed in learning during the warmer months. All of the activities and attractions listed below are operating at limited capacity where applicable and follow stringent Covid-19 health and safety protocols.
Explore the rainforest at Green Planet
This is the perfect way to experience nature during the Dubai summer. Children can become engrossed in this stunning indoor rainforest which is home to over 3,000 plants and animals. As well as providing an enchanting venue for exploration, Green Planet offers a rich educational experience for its young visitors. For an even wilder experience, you can now camp in this tropical bio dome and enjoy a unique adventure under the stars.
Experience the joy of Oli Oli
Oli Oli (meaning “joy” in Hawaiian) is a unique children’s museum which provides a sanctuary of exploration and wonder through experiential play. This extensive indoor space boasts a large variety of interactive galleries and hands-on exhibits which have been developed for children of all ages by professionals in education, creative arts and developmental psychology.
Frosty fun at Ski Dubai
For cooler indoor temperatures which contrast greatly with Dubai’s summer sun, bring the family to Ski Dubai. Children of 3 years and older can get active on the slopes or enjoy any of the other winter-themed experiences offered in this incredible venue. Enter the snow park and have fun on some of its many rides; spend some time with penguins or enjoy a comforting hot chocolate.
Legoland
Legoland is one of Dubai’s most popular family attractions with lots to do for young children. As well as enjoying the many rides and experiences, children can let their creativity flow as they design and test their own Lego race car. Your little ones can also learn the rules of the road and obtain their very own Legoland Driver’s License. There are countless other experiences on offer for children of 3 years and over; minimum height requirements do apply for some of the rides though, so it is a good idea to check this when planning your visit.
The wonderful world of Kidzania
With over 70 different role-playing activities for children aged two and up, Kidzania is a world run by children. They can immerse themselves in real-world learning by role-playing jobs in health, media, transportation, retail, and various other sectors, all housed within this replica city for kids. Earning Kidzos (the Kidzania currency), allows children to decide how best to spend their money; they can also save it if they wish. Children can also get involved in the cooking and preparation of healthy food and snacks. These are just some of the life skills that your children can begin to develop as they explore Kidzania.
We hope you and your family enjoy the summer in Dubai!
